OMCA 25th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration
Gallop into the Year of the Horse this February at the 25th anniversary of OMCA’s Lunar New Year Celebration! This milestone event features a full day of vibrant performances—including a headlining set by Oakland’s own Seiji Oda—alongside storytelling, hands-on activities, and delicious food from local AAPI chefs. From K-pop dance lessons to zodiac quests, there are endless ways to connect with Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, and Chinese traditions. The festival kicks off at 11 am, with performances starting at 12 pm. Affordable event parking is available nearby at the Oak Street Garage or Alco Park, and ASL interpretation will be provided for the Garden Stage.

Our neighbors at UC Berkeley Recreation and Wellbeing are hosting a very special event this month: the 50th Anniversary Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour. This isn't just a movie night—it’s a global celebration of mountain culture and the largest adventure film tour on the planet. From breathtaking expeditions to deeply human stories of resilience, the festival brings the world’s most exhilarating outdoor films right to our backyard at Wheeler Auditorium. Even better? All proceeds go toward student scholarships, helping the next generation of adventurers connect with the great outdoors.
When: February 21–22, 2026 (Matinee & Evening screenings available)
Where: Wheeler Auditorium, UC Berkeley

💡 Did You Know? Stairwell Secrets!
We want to make sure getting around Blake at Berkeley is as breezy as possible! Did you know that every floor has two convenient stairwells, one on each side of the building?
Whether you're headed out for a walk or just grabbing your packages, both sets of stairs provide full access to:
The Street Level (for a quick exit)
The Parking Garage * The Mailboxes (right by the leasing office)
How to find them: One stairwell is located directly across from the trash room on your floor, while the other is tucked away on the opposite end of the hallway. Next time you're heading down, skip the elevator wait and take the scenic route!
